Among the card players were, left to right: F. E. Stegner, Zanesville; Al Reid, Portsmouth; E. T. Coady, Columbus; George Itachtrup, Portsmouth; and Charles Jones, Zanesville.

COLUMBUS—Card games, fishing and honest-to-goodness bull sessions made the afternoon and evening pass all too quickly for the 41 members of the Columbus-Portsmouth-Zanesville Quarter Century Club who attended the annual spring party on June 16 at Floyd Alkire's cottage on Deer Creek, near Mt. Sterling. Local Chairman A. W. Fowle conducted a short business session in which he outlined future activities of the club, including the September dinner-meeting to be held at Harbor Hills. State Chairman C. C. Cleveland of Lima told of plans for the state convention to be held in Lima on August 12, which many members here plan to attend.

Quarter Century Club Members To Gather at Lima, August 12

"Greatest meeting since the Quarter Century Club was formed," is the way Charles C. Cleveland, president, describes the forthcoming ninth annual meeting of Sohio's Quarter Century Club scheduled for August 12 at Lima, Ohio.

Topping the program plans which he has announced for the eventful affair is the selection of "Miss Sohio" from bathing beauties representing company units. First contest of this nature to be held by Sohio, Mr. Cleveland reports many individual units have already begun the selection of an employee or employee's daughter to compete in the contest.

Twenty-five girls will be entered in the final judging to be held at Lima. Hotel accommodations are to be furnished each contestant, and prizes totaling $125.00 in merchandise will be awarded the winners.

Make your plans now, to be present in Lima, August 12, to witness the selection of Miss Sohio. Advance registrations indicate that, the crowd will be the largest ever to attend a Quarter Century Club reunion.

Of course, there'll be other events. Contracts are already signed for a top-notch vaudeville show. There'll also be an excursion through the Lima Refinery where $30,000,000 has been spent recently to make it Sohio's most modern.

But most important, it's your once-a-year opportunity to visit old Friends, renew friendships, and learn how time has treated your colleagues.

They'll be expecting you. Don't disappoint them. Quarter Century Club membership now totals 1,110, or approximately one in ten Sohioans.

Make August 12 a "Must Be at Lima Day" for you, your associates, wives, and guests. Your own committee-men have planned a full day and evening of never-to-be-forgotten fellowship and banqueting. So, come one, come all. Everyone will be expecting you.

Frank Tylicki

Retirements

Frank Tylicki No. 2 Refinery Plans Trip West

Since his retirement on July 1, 1050. as a drum filler at No. Two Refinery, Frank Tylicki has had more lime to travel and see the Cleveland Indians play ball.

Having recently returned from a vacation at Put-in-Bay, he's already looking forward to a trip to Arizona where the warm climate, he knows, is healthful. Mr, Tylicki was employed by Sohio April 12. 1910, as a sawyer, first class, at the Can Factory. He transferred to No. Two Refinery August 1, 1933, and worked there successively as a can filler, watchman, drum loader, and drum filler.

A member of Sohio's Quarter Century Club since 1938, he is also active in the Holy Name Society at St. Stanislaus Church. Frank finds time, too, for gardening the 120' by 130' lot at 3842 East 40th Street, where his home's located.

He and his wife, Helen, have four married children—two sons and two daughters — and six grandchildren.

John Barborech

In 1911, eight years alter he came to the United States from Austria-Hungary. John Harborech was employed at No. One  Refinery. This year, effective Julv 1, he became the refinery's thirty-sixth active annuitant. Mr. Harborech, in the Machine Shop at the time of his retirement, was originally employed as a pipe-fitter helper. During his years with Sohio he also worked as a pipefitter.

With his cap cocked at a jaunty angle, John is a familiar figure to all the refiners. They tall him "Curly."

He and his wife, Mary, have three married daughters.
