CLEVELAND—Pouring the concrete mat for the new thermofor
catalytic cracking unit at No. 1 Refinery was a complex operation (See story on
page 1). Workmen, above, poured 1000 cubic yards of cement to create a
foundation 70 feet wide by 81 feet long by 5 feet thick. Trucks which brought
the concrete drove in at a rate of one truck every minute and 42 seconds.

TOLEDO-R. M. Smith, left, and D. H. Skinner, the 1949
Golf League champions at Toledo Refinery, know competition will be greater this
year. Sixty-four men in comparison with only 36 last year will compete, two to
a team, for the trophies donated by Manager I.
L. Peterson.

DAYTON — Newest addition to the division office here is
22-year-old Juanita Short, a graduate of Parker Co-op High School in Dayton.

CLEVELAND - The family of Lloyd S. Barlow, No. Two
Refinery carpenter: Lloyd, Jr., Ann Marie, and Mrs. Barlow.

MANSFIELD—The new Sohio X-Tane Gasoline took the
spotlight at the Spring Changeover meetings throughout the state, as well as at
this meeting for Mansfield Division Servicenter employees.

COVINGTON-This is only part of the 100 pounds of fish
which Dave Cain, Gas Plant assistant operator, Latonia Refinery, and his
brother-in-law, Tom Brown, caught at Bass Bay, Tenn.

DETROIT—All Eastern Air Line planes arriving here are now
serviced with Sohio-Fleetwing Aviation Gasoline. This new Eastern Air Line Constellation
is being fueled with 100 octane Sohio-Fleetwing Aviation gasoline.

OKLAHOMA CITY—The Sohio Recreational Club bowling league
here climaxed the season on May 12 with playoffs for the two top teams. The
Reserves, winners for the first half, and the Pin Drillers, second half
winners, battled, with the Reserves winning the 1950 Sohio Bowling Championship
by the slim margin of the odd game in the roll off. Bill Zahrndt was captain of
the Reserves with J. C. McCandless, M. W. Sublett, J. P. Foraker, H. R. Sells
and R. M. Lowe as members; and the Pin Drillers had George Massad as captain
and Donald Milburn, E. F. Males, Ruth Brown, Bud Eagle, Ernest Miller and Ruth
Lamer.

TOLEDO — Mary Leech, whose husband is Donald, was one of
the door prize winners at the fish fry sponsored by the Toledo Division Rec
Club. (See complete story of the party on Around-the-Clock Page.)
O'My,
the Accident Maker

C'mon, Bud, it's a good day to clean up the yard. You can
get it all done today easy. Just lug off the stones and rubbish. It's
spring! Tra-la-la.

Sure, pile the roots and other rubbish on top of the wet
sand. Load the wheelbarrow high, you'll have few trips—you're rugged, you can
push it. You may trip over that
shovel—so what?
Who'd ha' thought it? Just pushed a wheelbarrow load
(some load!) and the guy gets a double hernia. Ho hum!
