Tom Holiday — Answer Man

As Sohioans, all of us have had the experience of being confronted by friends with questions or complaints about Sohio that we have been unable to answer satisfactorily. We can't possibly be expert in all of Sohio's products and processes. Yet, failure to come up with a satisfactory answer can mean loss of a customer. It is a problem that has been mentioned frequently by Sohioans contributing STEP Builder ideas.

The secret in such cases is not so much in knowing the answers as it is in knowing where to find them. Sohio has a special unit set up to handle just such questions, both from employees and customers—Tom Holiday's Customer Service Department.

When you encounter questions or complaints you can't handle, don't let them go unanswered. Write to Tom Holiday, outlining the question and giving the name and address of the customer. Tom will find the answer and write personally to your friend. You will receive a copy of the letter so that you will know how the matter is being handled.

Because you work for Sohio, your friends look upon you as an expert. And you are—because you have behind you the full resources of The Standard Oil Company of Ohio to help you in answering any customer questions or complaints. Tom Holiday will take up these questions for you with the persons who have the answers or the responsibility for meeting the customer's needs.
